Job summary

TSTAR RECRUIT PTE. LTD. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (Cost Management) in Singapore to manage cost reporting, forecasting, and cost control across multiple trades.

The role requires evaluating costs, preparing quotations, and supporting final accounts with vendors and subcontractors. Responsibilities include reviewing monthly cost reports, analysing project requirements, and ensuring cost allocations align with work activities.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
  • Familiarity with cost estimation, contract administration, and project cost control practices.
  • Experience using quantity take-off or cost management software (e.g., CostX or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly cost reports, comparing actual costs against projections and documenting variances with appropriate justifications.
  • Analyse project requirements and identify potential cost impacts, including forecasting additional costs where applicable.
  • Ensure cost allocations and payment projections are accurately aligned with specific work activities.
  • Review and validate projected costs against purchase orders and site records during monthly closing processes.
  • Monitor and track site-related expenses across various trades to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Source and obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors, and prepare detailed comparison analyses.
  • Measure and verify quantities based on drawings, using manual methods or relevant software tools (e.g., CostX or equivalent).
  • Manage quotation processes for ongoing project works across different trades.
  • Maintain and track variation order (VO) records, including cost impact and potential margin analysis.
  • Support negotiations and preparation of final accounts with vendors and subcontractors.

Our esteemed client, an established MNC, is searching for a Quantity Surveyor (Cost Management):
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review monthly cost reports, comparing actual costs against projections and documenting variances with appropriate justifications.
