Job summary

CHECC(SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation, take-offs, and tender preparation for large-scale Singapore projects.

You will analyze drawings and BOQs, source quotations, update pricing databases, and coordinate with engineering, procurement and planning teams to ensure contractual alignment and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in QS/Engineering or related discipline is required.
• At least 3 years of quantity surveying experience on large-scale tenders.
• Experience in Archi or structural works with at least one project track record.
• Familiarity with local Singapore cost trends and material prices.
• Proficiency in quantity take-off software and Excel.
• Knowledge of standard contracts (SIA, PSSCOC, FIDIC).

Responsibilities

• Study and analyze drawings, specifications, BOQ, and contract conditions.

• Prepare preliminary cost estimates and detailed cost breakdowns.
• Source and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Update internal pricing databases using past project data.

• Ensure costing aligns with contractual requirements and specifications.
• Liaise with engineering, procurement, and planning for inputs.
• Attend tender clarification meetings and site visits; prepare tender submissions.
• Ensure all documentation meets client requirements and deadlines.

• Study and analyze documents including drawings, specifications, bill of quantities (BOQ), and contract conditions.
• Perform quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and models (including digital take-off tools such as Cubicost or CostX).
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates and detailed cost breakdowns.
• Source and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Analyze cost data from past projects and update internal pricing databases.
• Identify potential cost risks and propose value engineering options.
• Ensure costing aligns with contractual requirements and project specifications.
• Liaise with internal departments (engineering, procurement, planning) for technical inputs and project requirements.
• Attend tender clarification meetings and site visits when necessary. Prepare and compile tender submission documents including BOQ, pricing schedules, and supporting data.
• Ensure all documentation complies with client requirements and submission deadlines.
• Any other duties assigned by superior.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying.
• Experience in handling large-scale or mega project tenders.
• Experience in Archi or Structural works with at least 1 track record projects (Main Contractor experience preferred).
• Familiarity with local construction cost trends and material prices in Singapore.
• Proficient in quantity take-off software and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiar with various standard forms of contract (e.g., SIA, PSSCOC, FIDIC).
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work under tight deadlines.
