Job summary

Kian Hiap Construction Pte Ltd is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years in the construction industry to lead cost management from tender to closeout. You will prepare BoQs, monitor budgets, administer contracts, and provide cost analyses to project teams.

You will liaise with architects, engineers, contractors and clients, ensuring accurate documentation and timely interim payments. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and strong stakeholder negotiation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related construction discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in quantity surveying or contracts management within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, including familiarity with standard forms of contract such as Singapore Standard Form of Contract or similar.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Competency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office, project management tools and estimating software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and managing Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and cost estimates for projects at tender stage
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the construction phase to ensure projects remain within budget
  • Administering contracts and managing variations, claims, and change orders in accordance with contractual terms
  • Conducting periodic financial reporting and providing cost analysis to project managers and senior management
  • Preparing valuations and interim payment certificates for contractors and clients
  • Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to resolve cost-related issues and disputes
  • Maintaining accurate project records, documentation and contract files
  • Conducting site inspections to verify work progress and quality against contractual specifications
  • Assisting in the preparation of final accounts and project closeout documentation
  • Any other duties assigned by Contracts Manager
