Job summary

Unicraft Engineering Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a capable Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, tendering, and cost control for construction projects.

You will perform site visits, prepare budgets, review claims, and liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to keep projects within budget and on schedule.

A degree in QS or Civil Engineering and at least 3 years' experience are required; willingness to work on-site and travel to sites is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or building projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Willingness to work primarily on construction sites and in physically demanding conditions.
• Able to handle on-call duties, including emergency calls and weekend work.
• Willingness to work overtime during critical periods.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and complete tasks under pressure.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with QS software, AutoCAD, and Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure specs and budget.
• Perform cost analysis and provide optimization recommendations.
• Manage procurement processes including quotations, contracts, supplier selection.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients on cost issues.
• Maintain records of project costs, variations, and claims.
• Handle quantity take-off, tender pricing, and submission.
• Analyze tender outcomes and prepare detailed reports.
• Prepare monthly progress claims and monitor progress.
• Assist with contracts, extension of time and loss & expense.
• Ensure compliance with regulations such as Security of Payment Act and ISO standards.
• Arrange and attend meetings, travel to sites, and follow up progress.
• Provide cost escalation alerts and communicate between internal departments and external parties.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by management.

• Conduct frequent site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with specifications and budget.
• Perform cost analysis and provide recommendations to optimize project expenditure.
• Manage procurement processes, including quotations, contracts, supplier selection, and maintaining good relationships.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve cost-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and claims.
• Responsible for quantity take-off, cost estimation, tender pricing, and submission.
• Analyse tender outcomes, prepare detailed reports, and discuss with Contract Manager.
• Measure and determine work progress to prepare periodic progress payment requests.
• Prepare and follow up monthly progress claims in a timely manner.
• Assist Contract Manager with construction contracts, contractual issues, and claims including extension of time and loss & expense.
• Ensure compliance with regulations such as Security of Payment Act and company/ISO standards.
• Arrange and attend meetings, travel to sites, and follow up on project progress.
