Job summary

STAFFLINK SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED in Singapore (Macpherson) is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage pre-contract and post-contract commercial duties within electrical projects. You will be involved in tender pricing, BOQ, cost estimation and final accounts, working closely with project teams.

The role requires a Diploma in QS or related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical construction, with the ability to coordinate across project, engineering and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience, preferably in electrical construction.
• Experience handling pre-contract and post-contract QS functions.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, materials and subcontractor works.
• Experience in tender preparation, BOQ, cost estimation, measurement, progress claims, variation orders and final accounts.
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial practices.
• Able to work independently while coordinating with project, engineering and commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQ and tender pricing for electrical works.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and scope of works to identify commercial and technical requirements.
• Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Source competitive quotations and conduct price comparisons to support tender submissions.
• Identify cost risks, exclusions, discrepancies and potential variations during tender stage.
• Assist in preparing tender submissions, budgets and cost plans.
• Liaise with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams to clarify tender requirements.
• Manage the commercial aspects of electrical projects from commencement through completion.
• Prepare and submit progress claims, payment applications and supporting documentation.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and expenditure against the approved budget.
• Evaluate and negotiate variation orders, claims and additional works with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Prepare and evaluate subcontractor progress claims and payments.
• Review and certify subcontractor measurements, valuations and payment claims.
• Maintain proper records of contractual correspondence, variations, claims and commercial documentation.
• Monitor project financial performance and highlight potential cost overruns or commercial risks.
• Assist Project Managers in contractual and commercial matters.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and management reports.
• Manage the final account with clients and subcontractors, including measurement, reconciliation and settlement of outstanding claims.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Contract / Tendering
