Job summary

MX Engineering Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a diligent Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, tender submissions and cost control for electrical projects.

You will prepare Bills of Quantities, perform take-offs, analyse costs, and coordinate with pricing, procurement, and site teams to mitigate risks and ensure value. 5+ years preferred; diploma/degree in QS or related field; strong MS Office and AutoCAD skills.

Job description

• Prepare tender submission including Bills of Quantities.
• Perform quantity take-offs for tender projects within establishedtimelines to support cost estimation and tender submissions.
• Analyse project cost, including equipment, material and labourwith past purchasing records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including TenderPricing, Cost Estimation, cost evaluation and prepare costcomparison.
• Attend site visits to visualise the potential site challenges andrisk management.
• Evaluation of price comparison and cost summary for management toreview; Identify and mitigate potential risks and cost overruns.
• Coordinate with various personnel for the compilation of projectcost estimates; Source and order materials for projects.
• Conduct cost analysis for the project to ensure the overall valueis enhanced. Control project scope to meet project objectives to enhanceproject deliverables and key work activities.
• Studying tender specifications and drawings to highlight potentialrisk for the company.
• Responsible for administration of project budget, cost controland sub-contract and main-contract including Variation Order (VO) andsettlement of final accounts
• Project procurement and purchasing, price negotiation andanalysis
• Prepare sub-contract agreement and payment
• Submit monthly report for progress payment claim
• Identify other potential claims based on review of the contractdeviations
• Handle issues including extension of time, terms and condition,loss and expenses claim etc
• Review and negotiate with the sub-contractors recommended by theproject manager as and when necessary
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritizemultiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiar in Handling HV, MV Switchboards, Power &Distribution transformers will be more advantageous
• Complete Understanding of Single line diagrams & Equipmentarrangement layouts
• Performs other ad hoc duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Mechanical/ ElectricalEngineering.
• Min 5 years of construction Quantity Surveyor experience for theelectrical project in Singapore.
• Able to work independently., know well for tender platform such asGeBIZ, Sesami, Tender Board, etc.
• Proficient in MS office applications AutoCad
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
