Job summary

Shangri-La Hotel Singapore is seeking a Pool Bar Captain to lead the pool bar team and ensure exceptional guest service at all times. This role requires strong leadership and a passion for hospitality in a fast-paced resort setting.

You will oversee daily operations, coordinate service flow, train staff, and uphold safety and hygiene standards to deliver memorable poolside experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within a hotel, resort, bar or restaurant environment.
• Previous experience in a pool bar, lounge, outdoor dining or resort setting will be an advantage.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate and develop a service team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Good knowledge of food and beverage operations, bar service standards and upselling techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Pool Bar and ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service to enhance the overall poolside dining experience.
• Coordinate table assignments, guest seating and service flow to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Conduct daily briefings and communicate outlet promotions, menu updates, special events and operational requirements to the team.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage and cocktail offerings, and make recommendations to guests when appropriate.
• Monitor and uphold outlet cleanliness, presentation standards, equipment maintenance and safety requirements.
• Handle guest enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring timely service recovery and resolution.
• Assist in training, coaching and developing associates on service standards, product knowledge and operational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and company policies and procedures at all times.
