Job summary

Shangri-La Singapore is seeking a seasoned Pool Bar Captain to lead a guest-focused team at our poolside venue. You will supervise daily operations, deliver personalized service, and drive consistent quality across all beverage and service items.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in hospitality, with strong leadership and superb communication skills to maintain safety, cleanliness and upselling opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within hotel, resort, bar or restaurant environment.
• Experience in pool bar, lounge, outdoor dining or resort setting is advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate and develop a service team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Good knowledge of food and beverage operations, bar service standards and upselling techniques.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Pool Bar and ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service to enhance the poolside dining experience.
• Coordinate table assignments, guest seating and service flow to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Conduct daily briefings and communicate promotions, menu updates, events and requirements to the team.
• Maintain knowledge of food, beverage and cocktail offerings and make recommendations to guests.
• Monitor and uphold outlet cleanliness, presentation, equipment maintenance and safety requirements.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring timely service recovery and resolution.
• Assist in training, coaching and developing associates on service standards, product knowledge and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and company policies and procedures.
