Job summary

Corning is seeking an Application Engineer in Singapore to be the technical interface across the product lifecycle for Photonics Connectivity Solutions. You will work with customers during design-in, deployment, and adoption, collaborating with internal teams to deliver robust optical connectivity solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering or related field, 3+ years in optical fibers, frequent customer engagement, independent work, strong communication, and hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in optical fibers and connectivity.
• Frequent customer interactions at technical level.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Interface and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
• Technical writing and presentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of Corning Optical Communications products.

Responsibilities

• Support customer co design activities, field trials, and evaluations.
• Perform on-site investigations of technical issues.
• Lead field remediation to resolve quality issues at customer sites.
• Support sales demonstrations at customer sites and trade shows.
• Provide training, troubleshooting and field support as needed to ensure successful adoption.
• Conduct product evaluations on Corning and competitor products to support design-in.
• Report competitive information to Product Line Management, Manufacturing and Sales/Marketing.
• Travel to manufacturing facilities to support cross-functional issue resolution and share customer feedback.
