Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Singapore seeks a Technical Engagement Specialist to guide customers through the lifecycle of PCS solutions, from design in to deployment. You will work with internal teams to provide technical guidance and training, ensuring successful adoption and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include field trials, on-site investigations, product evaluations, and collaboration with Sales and Manufacturing to address issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in optical fibers and connectivity.
• Ease with frequent customer interactions at technical level, comprehend needs, convey value.

Responsibilities

• Support customer co design activities, field trials, and product evaluations.
• Complete on site investigations of technical and product issues raised by customers.
• Act as the primary means of field remediation to resolve technical and quality issues at customer sites.
• Support sales demonstrations/presentations at customer sites and trade shows.
• Perform training, troubleshooting and field support as needed to ensure successful adoption.
• Conduct product evaluations on Corning and competitor products to support design in and customer decision making.
• Actively pursue, obtain and report competitive information to Product Line Management, Manufacturing and Sales/Marketing.
• Provide technical recommendations and feedback to Sales, Product Line Management, and Manufacturing to solve quality and/or field related issues.
• Travel to manufacturing facilities when needed to support cross functional issue resolution and share customer feedback and technical insights from the field

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope Of Position

Responsible for customer facing technical engagement across the product lifecycle, ensuring successful design in, deployment, and adoption of PCS solutions.

Key responsibilities include supporting customer co design and joint development activities by acting as a technical interface between customers and internal teams; providing customer targeted product documentation and training; delivering technical guidance and recommendations; gathering customer information and feedback; and following through on actions needed to rapidly address technical and product issues as they arise. Requires close collaboration with Sales and Sales Operations within the PCS Commercial team, and strong cross functional engagement with adjacent functions across the business unit.

Education/Experiences/Skills – Required

• Ease with frequent customer interactions at technical level, comprehend needs, convey value
• Work independently with little supervision.
• Interface and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, internal and external.

Skills – Desired

• Technical writing ability, with emphasis on effective presentation of detailed concepts
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Knowledge of Corning Optical Communications products

• 50% travel within assigned region
• Willingness to work outside of normal scheduled business hours when necessary.
