Job summary

National University Health System Pte. Ltd. is seeking a patient services assistant to ensure a positive experience for patients and internal customers across clinics.

You will coordinate care between patients and healthcare providers, handle administrative tasks, and support junior staff in delivering services within the department. Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least GCE 'N' Level and above.
• Preferably with 3 years working experience in healthcare/service industry.
• Experience in customer service-oriented environment will be an advantage.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Email.
• Comfortable with new systems and processes.
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates should be comfortable/flexible with working in a hospital setting and in different clinics when needed.
• Shift work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administrative (70%): Prepares counters and waiting areas; handles patient registration, screening escalations and appointments.
• Apply infection control practices to reduce transmission risk and ensure safety.
• Identify hazards and participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
• Provide pre-test instructions during phone calls and liaise with patients and public enquiries.
• Assist in audit processes and reconcile dropped or cancelled charges.
• Develop and review standard work and train junior staff to perform tasks safely and correctly.
• Performs clinical Core, Basic and Intermediates tasks and guides junior PSAs, maintains records of competencies.
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment, perform basic measurements and assist with minor procedures.
• Oversee emergency tasks coordination by junior PSAs.
• Support patient education initiatives and post-procedure advice.
