Job summary

DBS Bank Ltd in Singapore seeks an Accounts Receivable Collection Officer to intensify recovery of past-due balances. You will contact delinquent customers, assess accounts, and take firm actions to prevent charge-offs.

The role requires clear communication, negotiation skills, and adherence to bank policies while exploring repayment plans and lawful recovery actions; you will work from DBS Asia Hub in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma holder with 2-3 years’ experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to manage difficult customers and situations independently.
• Experience in customer service, telemarketing and call centre is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Contact 90 to 150 days past due and cancelled accounts for payment and prevent charge-off at 180 days.
• Review and recommend account for legal action and/or exercise rights of set-off per Bank terms.
• Provide customer with information and means to make payment to the Bank.
• Review customers’ profile and identify effective collection actions.
• Negotiate payment schedules to maximise profitability and minimise risk.
• Follow up with past-due customers via phone, SMS, email and letters.
• Escalate irregular cases to team leader for guidance.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations with solutions for default cases.
• Contact joint borrowers or use other sources if no valid contact number is available.
• Recommend repayment plans or composite settlements for hardship cases.
• Handle administration tasks like updating delinquent history, data changes, payment instructions, and MIS data.
