Job summary

Shangri-La Group is seeking an Origin Bar Waiter/Waitress to join Shangri-La Singapore and deliver exceptional service at the bar. You will welcome guests, present menus, and make beverage recommendations, ensuring accurate orders and timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of relevant hospitality experience, strong communication and teamwork, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a hotel, bar, lounge, restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Previous experience in a cocktail bar or upscale dining establishment will be an advantage.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of food and beverage service practices; knowledge of cocktails and spirits is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional and personalized service to guests in accordance with Shangri-La service standards.
• Welcome guests warmly, present menus and provide recommendations on food and beverage selections.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely delivery to guests.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menu offerings, cocktails, spirits, wines and promotions to confidently assist guests.
• Ensure tables, bar seating areas and service stations are properly prepared and maintained throughout service.
• Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to requests and enquiries.
• Process guest bills accurately and handle payment transactions in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Assist in setting up and closing the outlet, including stocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Work closely with the bar and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations and an excellent guest experience.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and company policies and procedures at all times.
