Job summary

Frencken Group's Frencken Mechatronics division in Singapore seeks an engineer to lead NPI activities for precision-machined components, from development through production release, coordinating across engineering, manufacturing and quality teams.

You will review drawings and GD&T, interpret specifications, and develop manufacturing routes with tooling and inspection requirements, while driving continuous improvement and clear communication with stakeholders.

Who are we?

Frencken Mechatronics is involved in the development and assembly of industrial systems or the semiconductor industry, the healthcare market, and a wide range of analytical applications. The high-quality precision mechanical parts, machine assemblies, and vacuum systems are assembled in both clean room and non-clean room environments. As a service provider, Frencken Mechatronics also produces high-quality precision components and modules for leading clients in the high-tech industry.

• Coordinate cross-functional technical activities within Engineering to Production manufacturing and Quality teams.


• Review customer drawings/specifications and establish manufacturing, inspection and qualification requirements.


• Recommend practical technical solutions, manufacturability improvements and risk-mitigation actions.


• Communicate technical assumptions, risks and actions clearly to relevant stakeholders.


• Escalate technical, quality, schedule and manufacturing risks with clear recovery actions.


• Lead and execute NPI activities for precision-machined mechanical components from development through production release.


• Review drawings, specifications, GD&T, materials, tolerances and special-process requirements for manufacturing feasibility.


• Develop manufacturing routes, process flow, tooling/fixture concepts, inspection requirements and NPI execution plans.


• Maintain NPI documentation, engineering records (WI), technical learnings and handover materials for stable production release.


• Support continuous improvement and engineering activities and liaison with relevant stakeholders.

Job Requirement

• Min. Diploma / Degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.


• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor equipment / precision engineering industry.


• Able to interpret complex mechanical drawings, GD&T, specifications and manufacturing requirements.


• Proficient in SolidWorks and SolidCAM, or equivalent CAD/CAM software.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to prepare clear technical reports, trackers and presentations.


• Hands-on exposure to machine operation and shop-floor manufacturing activities.


• Experience working collaboratively with customers, suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.


• Strong knowledge and exposure to manufacturing and tertiary processes.


• Practical experience in continuous improvement and structured problem-solving for manufacturing and quality issues.


• CWI is a plus.
