Job summary

Frencken Mechatronics in Singapore seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to operate milling, turning and drilling equipment in a precision manufacturing setting.

You will load materials, set basic parameters, inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, and read engineering drawings with GD&T fundamentals. Safety, accuracy, and adherence to process sheets are essential for quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Secondary schooling or equivalent technical cert is required.
• 1–3 years of experience operating precision machinery.
• Basic understanding of CNC milling/turning and GD&T fundamentals.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, gauges and basic metrology tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC or conventional machines (milling, turning, drilling).
• Load materials, set basic parameters, and perform tool changes.
• Perform in-process inspections with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges.
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow process sheets.
• Monitor machine performance and report deviations or wear.
• Maintain production records (quantities, scrap, downtime).
• Follow safety protocols, PPE, housekeeping and machine guarding requirements.
• Conduct routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on machines.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and technicians to resolve issues.
• Support 5S, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities.

The high-quality precision mechanical parts, machine assemblies, and vacuum systems are assembled in both clean room and non-clean room environments. Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC or conventional machines such as milling, turning, or drilling equipment.
• Load raw materials, set basic machine parameters, and perform required tool changes.
• Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measurement tools.
• Interpret engineering drawings and follow process sheets and work instructions.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities, tool wear, or dimensional deviations.
• Maintain accurate production records including quantities produced, scrap, and machine downtime.
• Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, housekeeping, and compliance with machine guarding requirements.
• Conduct routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on machines.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and technicians to resolve production issues.
• Support 5S, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing activities.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or relevant technical certificate.
• 1–3 years of experience operating machinery in a precision manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of CNC milling or turning operations.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals.
• Proficiency in using basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Good mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to handle small and large components.
• Strong commitment to safety and product quality.
