Job summary

Frencken Mechatronics is seeking a manufacturing/ mechanical engineer to drive DFM discussions with customers and engineering teams. The role requires 3–5 years in the semiconductor equipment or precision engineering field, plus hands-on experience with CAD/CAM tools and shop-floor manufacturing methods.

You will review drawings, specifications and RFQ requirements to assess manufacturability and cost estimation, while supporting continuous improvement efforts and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Min. Diploma / Degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years in semiconductor equipment / precision engineering.
• Experience with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and GD&T.

Responsibilities

Job description

Who are we?

Frencken Mechatronics is involved in the development and assembly of industrial systems or the semiconductor industry, the healthcare market, and a wide range of analytical applications. The high-quality precision mechanical parts, machine assemblies, and vacuum systems are assembled in both clean room and non-clean room environments. As a service provider, Frencken Mechatronics also produces high-quality precision components and modules for leading clients in the high-tech industry. Coordinate technical and DFM discussions between sales, customers and internal engineering teams. Review customer drawings/specifications and establish manufacturing feasibility and costing requirements. Recommend DFM solutions, manufacturing methods and cost optimisation opportunities. Establish technical assumptions, process requirements and costing basis for quotation. Escalate technical, commercial and manufacturing risks to relevant stakeholders. Review customer drawings, specifications and RFQ requirements to assess manufacturability and technical feasibility. Lead DFM discussions with customers and relevant stakeholders to clarify requirements and propose practical manufacturing solutions. Develop and illustrate manufacturing concepts and process flows to support DFM and cost estimation. Prepare detailed and justifiable cost estimates covering the full spectrum of product development and manufacturing requirements. Support continuous improvement and engineering activities and liaison with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Min. Diploma / Degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor equipment / precision engineering industry.
• Experience working collaboratively with customers, suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge and exposure to manufacturing and tertiary processes.
• Hands-on exposure to machine operation and shop-floor manufacturing activities.
• Practical experience in continuous improvement and structured problem-solving for manufacturing and quality issues.

Working Skills & Attitude

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to prepare clear technical reports, trackers and presentations.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and SolidCAM, or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
• Able to interpret complex mechanical drawings, GD&T, specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong customer and cross-functional communication skills.
• Passionate and takes pride in delivering quality engineering work.
• Self-motivated, driven and accountable for assigned responsibilities and deliverables.
• Strong team player who collaborates effectively and contributes towards shared goals.
