Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Network & Structured Cabling Manager to lead and manage network infrastructure, structured cabling, and data centre infrastructure projects from planning through completion. The candidate will be responsible for project planning, technical coordination, site execution, manpower management, subcontractor and vendor coordination, resource planning, cost control, testing, commissioning, and project handover. The ideal candidate should have strong hands‑on knowledge of network infrastructure, servers, structured cabling, fibre and copper systems, and data centre environments, together with proven experience managing project teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage network infrastructure, structured cabling, and data centre infrastructure projects from planning to completion
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, manpower, and resource requirements
- Develop and maintain project schedules, installation programmes, manpower plans, and project budgets
- Manage and coordinate engineers, technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and site teams
- Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Review project specifications, network diagrams, rack layouts, cable schedules, drawings, and technical requirements
- Plan and coordinate the installation and implementation of network infrastructure, servers, racks, switches, and related IT equipment
- Oversee structured cabling installation including copper and fibre optic cabling, termination, patching, labelling, and cable management
- Coordinate fibre optic splicing, termination, testing, OTDR testing, and cable certification activities where required
- Monitor site progress and ensure installation works are completed according to approved schedules and project requirements
- Coordinate network equipment installation including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and other infrastructure
- Coordinate server and rack installation, equipment mounting, patching, and infrastructure deployment
- Ensure proper rack layouts, cable routing, containment, patching, and cable management
- Monitor project manpower, materials, equipment, tools, and other resources
- Manage procurement requirements and coordinate delivery of materials and equipment to project sites
- Monitor project costs, expenses, variations, subcontractor costs, and support overall cost control
- Identify technical issues, project risks, site constraints, and potential delays and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for technical support, product information, troubleshooting, and system requirements
- Oversee testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, rectification, and final handover activities
- Review and ensure completion of testing records, cable schedules, network documentation, rack elevations, as-built drawings, and handover documents
- Conduct regular site inspections and project coordination meetings
- Prepare and provide regular project progress reports and management updates
- Ensure all works comply with project specifications, quality standards, workplace safety requirements, and site regulations
- Support tender submissions, project costing, technical proposals, and business development activities when required
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in network infrastructure, structured cabling, data centre infrastructure, IT infrastructure, or related project management
- Proven experience managing network infrastructure, structured cabling, or data centre projects
- Strong technical knowledge of network infrastructure, structured cabling, servers, racks, and data centre systems
- Good understanding of copper and fibre optic cabling systems
- Knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, single‑mode and multimode fibre
- Good understanding of network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and related infrastructure
- Experience coordinating engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and vendors
- Strong project planning, manpower planning, resource management, and cost control skills
- Able to read and interpret network diagrams, rack elevations, cable schedules, floor plans, and technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project documentation
- Willing to travel to project sites and data centres when required
Preferred Skills
- Strong experience in data centre infrastructure and structured cabling projects
- Hands‑on experience with copper and fibre optic installation, termination, splicing, and testing
- Experience with Fluke cable certification testing and OTDR testing
- Knowledge of BICSI standards and structured cabling best practices
- Experience with network equipment from Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Dell, or equivalent
- Experience with server infrastructure from Dell, HPE, Lenovo, or equivalent
- Familiarity with data centre rack layouts, overhead/underfloor cabling, containment, patching, and cable management
- Experience with network migration, infrastructure upgrades, and system implementation
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and technical drawing software
- Experience managing large‑scale data centre or critical infrastructure projects is an advantage
- Experience working with data centre operators, main contractors, consultants, or M&E contractors
- Relevant networking, cabling, data centre, or IT infrastructure certifications will be an advantage
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and subcontractor costs
