Job description

Our client, a reputable M&E engineering contractor, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This position focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical works—particularly in chiller systems, cooling towers, and upgrading projects—while ensuring strong technical standards, operational efficiency, and compliance with industry requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, supervise, and execute mechanical engineering works, including chiller and cooling tower installation, upgrading, retrofitting, and system integration.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, method statements, and project documentation to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and on‑time delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections, testing & commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance validation of mechanical systems.
  • Produce shop drawings & coordination of drawings & coordination of drawings etc.
  • Ensure all project and engineering activities comply with ISO 9000, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and internal quality management procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports, site updates, and documentation to support audits, compliance checks, and project reviews.
  • Participate in risk assessments, develop method statements, and support internal audits as a certified ISO Internal Quality Auditor.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements, energy efficiency enhancements, and engineering optimization.
  • Support procurement processes by reviewing and evaluating equipment specifications for technical suitability.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an M&E contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical system installation, commissioning, and site coordination.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
PREFERRED
  • Experience in chiller upgrades, cooling tower retrofits, or large‑scale mechanical installation projects is a plus.
  • Background in commercial, industrial, or building services engineering.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance, safety practices, and engineering best practices in M&E projects.
