Job summary

Ministry of Defence of Singapore is seeking a Training Manager to consolidate training requirements across Commands and Groups, drive the DIS Continuous Learning Work Plan (DCLWP), and oversee training initiatives. You will liaise with Training Management Branch on course nominations, funding, and governance, monitor budgets, and prepare management updates.

Job description

What The Role Is

You assist in training management and drive continuous learning for the Command and Groups. You are also responsible for managing the annual Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) Continuous Learning Work Plan (DCLWP) and other training initiatives across the Command.

What You Will Be Working On

• Consolidate training requirements from Command and Groups for DCLWP
• Handle ad-hoc training requests, including course additions, replacements, and additional budget requirements
• Work with Command and Formation representatives on training matters, including the list of courses and events
• Liaise with Training Management Branch (TMB) on course nominations, allocations, funding, and training policies
• Monitor budget utilisation, commitments, and expenditure of courses
• Ensure financial transactions comply with governance and audit requirements
• Prepare reports and management updates on training and budget matters

Challenge(s)

• Managing training needs from different Command and Groups with varying priorities, while balancing requirements within available budget and training opportunities
• Handling urgent and ad-hoc requests while coordinating multiple stakeholders and approval authorities
• Ensuring compliance with financial and governance requirements

What We Are Looking For

• Education in Business Management or a related field is preferred
• Prior working experience in training management is advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Copilot and AI tools for productivity and reporting will be beneficial
• Good communication and planning skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Interest in training and workforce development
