Job summary

MINDEF Singapore seeks an experienced professional to drive standardised vocational and instructional development programmes, strengthening resilience and character development. You will lead planning, development and monitoring of work plans and critical training resources.

You will translate vocational needs into objectives, review syllabi and assessment rubrics, oversee training activities across schools, and diagnose gaps to propose scalable improvements.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years in training development or instructional design.
• Education in any field.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
• Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.

Job description

What the role is:

You are responsible for standardising vocational and instructional development programmes, driving resilience and character development, and leading training performance analysis. You will lead, plan, develop, and monitor work plan targets and deliverables, as well as plan and manage critical training resources.

What you will be working on:

• Translate vocational training requirements into learning objectives
• Review the syllabi, lesson plans, training standards, and assessment rubrics
• Oversee the planning of all training activities across schools
• Diagnose gaps in training effectiveness and propose scalable solutions
• Perform vocational benchmarking, introducing innovative instructional strategies, and formulating instructor governance plans
• Lead training performance analysis
• Identify opportunities to improve training outcomes
• Challenge(s)- Managing a diverse job scope spanning training development, instructional standards, performance analysis, and critical training resource planning, each involving different stakeholders and specialisations
• Working within the training and resource constraints of multiple camps, coordinating effectively with training staff and trainees who are dispersed across different locations

What we are looking for:

• Education in any field
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in training development, instructional design, or a related field
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills
• Strong writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changes, and remain receptive to new ideas
