Job summary

BW Epic Kosan in Singapore invites graduates to join a 24-month Traineeship Programme within the Technical Procurement Department. The programme offers broad exposure to maritime procurement operations supporting our fleet of vessels and hands-on experience in supplier management, spares, and certificates administration.

You will rotate through key departments, develop knowledge in vessel maintenance, procurement, contracts, sustainability, and digitalisation, and progress into a specialized

Qualifications

• Graduates interested in this position should possess a Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.
• Fresh Graduates may also apply.
• Traveling to shipyards in China, Turkey and other European countries are expected around the year.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English language with all levels of staff and work independently in a fast-paced environment under tight timelines.
• Proficient in computer software applications and good Microsoft Office knowledge.
• Resourceful, good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Applicant should be Singaporean.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Our 24-month Traineeship Programme will provide you with an opportunity to explore your prospects through a broad, yet in-depth, exposure to our business, with the aim to move into a specialized role within the company's Technical Procurement Department after successful completion of the programme. You will be part of an international organization with the opportunity to explore a career in the shipping industry.

The role responsibilities cover Maritime procurement operations to support our fleet of managed vessels Technical equipment spares, Consumable stores, Vessels technical certificates management, vessel maintenance, repairs, servicing and drydocking. The focus areas for the role would cover Maritime Equipment suppliers, Procurement daily operations, Logistics coordination, Warehouse stock inventory management, Vendor management, Procurement risk analysis and management, Contract negotiation, Sustainability initiatives, and Digitalisation projects.

You will undergo a comprehensive traineeship programme consisting of rotations in key departments of the company for familiarization with other departmental functions. You will gradually develop knowledge and gain hands-on experience in Technical Ship Management, focussed on managing vessel's daily operations, Procurement, Vessel Performance & Efficiency, New building, New regulatory requirements, and Environmental aspects. You will be exposed to other areas including, but not limited to, Safety, Vetting, Audits, and Crewing. You will gain insights in the commercial aspects (chartering, operations, etc.) and finance functions (accounts, ship finance, legal aspects and maritime insurance) of the company. Whilst this is a ‘traineeship role', you will be given responsibility from day one.
