Job summary

BW Epic Kosan offers a 24-month Traineeship Programme to explore prospects through broad exposure, with a path to a specialized role within the Technical Department. You will join an international organization and rotate through key areas of ship management, marine operations, and security to gain hands-on experience.

You will be exposed to vessel maintenance, procurement, crew development, and commercial/finance functions, with early responsibilities from day one.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Nautical Studies or related field.
• Fresh graduates may apply.
• Sailing experience as Deck Officer preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficient in English and able to communicate with staff at all levels.
• Proficient in computer software and MS Office.
• Singaporean applicants preferred.

Responsibilities

BW Epic Kosan owns and operates a fleet of about 47 modern and high quality fully pressurized, semi-refrigerated and ethylene capable gas carriers providing seaborne services for the transportation of liquified petroleum gas (LPG), petrochemicals and other specialty gases. Job Description

Our 24-month Traineeship Programme will provide you with an opportunity to explore your prospects through a broad, yet in-depth, exposure to our business, with the aim to move into a specialized role within the company's Technical Department, Marine & Security team after successful completion of the programme. You will be part of an international organization with the opportunity to explore a career in the shipping industry.

You will undergo a comprehensive traineeship programme consisting of rotations in key departments of the company to develop knowledge and gain hands-on experience in Technical Ship Management, focussed on managing vessel's daily marine, Navigation, Cargo operations, Deck maintenance, Mooring, Safety, Security, Quality, Audits, Vetting, New building, New regulatory requirements, and Environmental aspects. You will be exposed to other areas including, but not limited to Vessel technical maintenance, Procurement, Vessel Performance, Emissions, Crew Competence development and Crewing. You will gain insights in the commercial aspects (chartering, operations, etc.) and finance functions (accounts, ship finance, legal aspects and maritime insurance) of the company. Whilst this is a ‘traineeship role', you will be given responsibility from day one.

Qualification & Skills

• Graduates interested in this position should possess a Degree / Diploma in Nautical Studies or related discipline.
• Fresh Graduates may also apply.
• Preference for candidates with sailing experience as a Deck Officer, but not mandatory.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English language with all levels of staff and work independently in a fast-paced environment under tight timelines.
• Proficient in computer software applications and good Microsoft Office knowledge.
• Resourceful, good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Applicant should be Singaporean.
