Job summary

We are seeking a Project Engineer in Singapore to plan, develop and manage construction projects with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. You will facilitate designs, ensure proper implementation, and supervise site activities.

Responsibilities include assisting the Project Manager in site supervision, planning and coordinating technical and management aspects, and controlling costs while liaising with all project parties.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years in the construction industry.
• Experience with Additions & Alterations (A&A) in commercial buildings.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good communication skills.
• Relevant site experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word).
• Ability to write/understand engineering reports.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

About the role

As Project Engineer, you will plan, develop and manage construction-based projects. You will facilitate construction designs and ensure that these designs are implemented with utmost safety and that the whole process flows efficiently. You will ensure that the materials in use are safe and that the methods being used are appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in site supervision
• Plan, schedule, forecast, conduct and coordinate the technical and management aspects of projects
• Manage and plan the construction project
• Assist in project tendering and budget for the project within an estimated cost
• Control the cost of materials and labor
• Coordinate and check engineering deliverables
• Attend site meetings, inspections and monitor project progress
• Liaise and coordinate with all parties involved in projects such as consultants, main contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, local authorities, environmental agencies and federal entities
• Prepare monthly project status reports and change orders
• Manage the daily operation of project execution

Requirements

• Degree in Civil & Structural / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• Prior 3 years working experience in construction industry
• Experience in Additions & Alterations (A&A) works in commercial building upgrading project
• Comprehension for written or verbal graphic instructions
• Good communication skills
• Relevant site experience
• Knowledge in Microsoft office (Excel, Word)
• Ability to write / understand engineering reports
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision
