Job summary

Nakano Singapore (Pte) Ltd is seeking a Senior M&E Construction Engineer to coordinate with consultants and subcontractors on shop drawings, method statements, and testing. You will participate in technical meetings, verify site work per drawings and authorities, and drive M&E progress with minimal supervision.

The role requires 10+ years in M&E construction across commercial or industrial projects, including A&A works in live environments, with strong communication and stakeholder management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant M&E construction experience.
• Experience with Main Contractors or M&E Contractors.
• Proven experience in M&E systems installation, coordination, testing and commissioning.
• Experience managing M&E works for commercial, industrial, mixed development or institutional projects.
• Experience in Addition & Alteration (A&A) works in live operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with consultants/subcontractors on shop drawings, samples, method statements submission and approval and keep all involved parties updated on changes.
• Attend project/technical meetings and resolve site and technical issues with owner/consultants for smooth progress.
• Verify on-site work against approved drawings/specifications/authorities' requirements and ensure rectification of non-compliances by subcontractors.
• Conduct minimally weekly M&E meetings with M&E subcontractors to ensure work sequence and avoid clashes.
• Resolve site issues with consultants/subcontractors/suppliers timely to prevent delays.
• Maintain proper documentation for records and operational needs of the project.
• Coordinate with safety department and carry out duties within safety framework including permit to work.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors for equipment and combined services testing for authorities’ inspections.
• Prepare M&E progress reports and other reports required by client/consultants.
• Compile and check completeness of all operation and maintenance manuals from suppliers/sub-contractors on project completion.
• Check compliance with quality standards including ISO 9000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Green Mark and Buildability Score.
• Conduct risk assessments based on tender drawings and site requirements.
• Develop Value Engineering Cost Down and cost-effective M&E solutions.
• Propose M&E work schedules and lead times to create project schedules using Microsoft Project (or equivalent).

1. To coordinate with consultants / subcontractors on the shop drawings / samples / method statements submission and approval and keep all involved parties updated of the latest changes.
2. To attend project / technical meeting and resolve site and technical issues with owner/ consultants for the site progress to proceed smoothly.
3. To verify the work done on site is in accordance with the approved drawings / specifications/ authorities’ requirement and ensure that the subcontractors carry out rectification for non-compliance.
4. Conduct minimally weekly M&E meetings with the M&E subcontractors to ensure that their work is in proper sequence and ensure that the site supervisors are aware of the work sequence to avoid clashes of site activities.
5. To resolve site issues with consultants /subcontractors / supplier timely to prevent delay to the construction progress.
6. To ensure that the proper documentation is always kept up to date for proper records and operational needs of the project.
7. To cooperate with the safety department and carry out the assigned duties within the safety framework including permit to work.
8. To coordinate with consultants and contractors for equipment and combined services testing so that site is ready for authorities’ inspection.
9. Prepare M&E progress report or any other reports required by the client or consultants.
10. Compile and check completeness and accuracy of all operational and maintenance manuals from suppliers / sub-contractors on completion of project for submission.
11. Check and ensure compliance with the requirements of all required quality standards including but not limited to ISO 9000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Green Mark and Buildability Score.
