Job summary

The role requires a degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in real estate, retail, or M&E contracting. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.

Join our dynamic team as an Engineering Specialist, where you will oversee essential maintenance and improvement projects, ensuring optimal performance of building systems and services.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate equipment maintenance, repair, and minor enhancements to enhance service reliability.

• Supervise maintenance activities to ensure timely execution by technicians or vendors.

• Conduct periodic inspections to identify and resolve system anomalies.

• Execute capital expenditures for replacements, minimizing system disruptions.

• Evaluate and implement new energy and water-efficient technologies to improve equipment efficiency and reduce costs.

• Ensure all maintenance works comply with regulatory and contractual requirements.

• Implement best practices aligned with industry standards to maintain compliance with OHS and environmental regulations.

• Manage service requests and faults to ensure prompt responses and closures.

• Participate in annual budget reviews for operating and capital expenditures related to building plans and maintenance.

• Monitor expenditures to remain within budgetary constraints and verify payments to contractors for satisfactory completion of work.

• Draft tender specifications for capital expenditures and term contract renewals to incorporate updated requirements and standards.

• Evaluate submissions for tenders and quotations, providing recommendations for awards.

• Assess vendor performance and identify areas for improvement.

• Execute work plans while monitoring adherence to compliance requirements for both internal staff and outsourced service providers.

• Review requirements for tenant fit-outs, additions, and alterations to align with tenancy design guidelines and regulatory frameworks.

• Advise on compliance for changes in usage, reconfiguration, and subdivision of tenanted units.

• Facilitate meetings among consultants, tenants, and contractors to coordinate project works.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field.

• Experience in real estate development, retail industry, or M&E contracting is preferred.

• Strong technical knowledge of building equipment and components.

• Ability to operate and troubleshoot building systems and equipment effectively.

• Excellent communication and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead, guide, and mentor a team.
