Job summary

LONGXIANG CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD is seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to design, coordinate, and oversee M&E systems for construction projects. You will work with architects, civil engineers, contractors and project managers to ensure compliance with codes, safety, and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, with focus on construction, building services, or industrial projects.
• Prior MOE project experience is advantageous.

Job description

The Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineer is responsible for designing, coordinating, and overseeing the mechanical and electrical systems in construction industrial projects. This role involves working closely with other engineers, architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure that mechanical and electrical systems are constructed in compliance with relevant standards, are cost-effective, and meet the functional and safety requirements of the project.

• Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems for projects, including HVAC, lighting, power distribution, plumbing systems, and fire fighting system.

• Collaborate with architects and civil engineers to integrate M&E systems seamlessly into the overall project design.

• Ensure that all designs comply with local regulations, building codes, and industry standards.

• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and plans for mechanical and electrical installations.

• Oversee the installation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.

• Ensure that installation is carried out safely, adhering to safety standards and risk management protocols.

• Conduct testing and commissioning of M&E systems to ensure they are fully operational and meet performance standards.

• Manage the M&E components of the project, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.

• Monitor and supervise on-site activities to ensure compliance with M&E specifications and quality standards.

• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure efficient project execution.

• Provide ongoing technical support during and after the construction phase, ensuring the mechanical and electrical systems are functioning efficiently.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mechanical and electrical systems.

• Ensure that preventive maintenance schedules are established and followed.

• Prepare and maintain accurate records of designs, technical specifications, calculations, and installation activities.

• Report project progress to senior management, identifying any potential delays or issues and recommendingsolutions.

Requirement

• A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, with a focus on construction, building services, or industrial projects.

• Prior experience in MOE projects will be an advantage.
