Job summary

Owens Corning in Singapore is seeking a Logistics Assistant/Associate for the 2nd shift (2pm–11pm) to handle inventory control, kitting, shipment packing, receiving, and related logistics tasks.

The role reports to the Inventory & Logistic Leader and requires Diploma/Certificate with relevant manufacturing experience, SAP knowledge, and familiarity with shipping documentation and compliance. 5-day workweek with shift allowance and meals provided.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in a manufacturing environment or related field.
• Experience in preparing shipping documents and tracking processes, including.customs compliance documentation.
• Experience with inventory control and warehousing.
• Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes is an advantage.
• Ability to plan to anticipate shipping needs and coordinate with freight forwarders.
• Knowledge of import/export is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies in handling, moving and storage.
• Manage flow of products/parts and prepare kits for issue to operations.
• Perform goods receiving duties and verify records against bills of lading, invoices and orders.
• Prepare items and documents for shipment and determine method of shipment.
• Unpack, inspect, record shortages, and liaise with shipper to rectify damages.
• Verify daily inventory and troubleshoot incorrect entries.
• Collaborate with business units to meet operations objectives and support reporting.
• Assist with metal requirements/conversion for operations when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Position: Logistics Assistant/ Associate (2nd shift – 2pm to 11pm)

Perform activities such inventory control, kitting of parts, shipment packing/documentation and receiving function to meet operation demand.

The position reports to: Inventory & Logistic Leader

Responsibilities:

• Adherence to safety policies in properly handling, moving and storage;
• Manage flow of products/parts;
• Prepare fabrication and kits for issue to operations;
• Goods receiving duties;
• Compares identifying parts counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments. Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records;
• Prepare items and documents for shipment and determine method of shipment;
• Unpack and examine incoming/packing for outgoing shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and liaise with shipper to rectify damages and shortages, and routing items to appropriate departments.
• Verification of daily inventory in the plant. Troubleshoot any incorrect transactional entries.
• Works closely with business units to achieve overall business operations objectives and assurance completeness of operation transactions and involve in management reporting.
• Manage metal requirements/conversion for operation when necessary;
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the management.

Requirement:

• Certificate/Diploma with relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in preparing shipping documents and tracking processes, including custom compliance documentation; C/O Application;
• Experience relates to inventory control and warehousing;
• Understanding of the manufacturing and fabrication process is an advantage.
• Planning skills to anticipate shipping needs so as to support the customers’ processes. Communication with freight forwarders and carriers to ensure timely shipments and receipts;
• Security conscious as it relates to the policies outlined for both the transportation and within the manufacturing environment;
• Possessing import /export knowledge is a plus;
• Knowledge in using SAP a plus;
