Job summary

URBAN BISTRO PTE. LTD. is seeking a capable cook to join our kitchen team in Singapore.

The role involves preparing ingredients according to recipes, handling hot and cold dishes, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. You will work closely with supervisors to ensure timely meal service and quality across daily, holiday, and theme menus. The ideal candidate can cook North Indian cuisine, supervise a small kitchen team, and handle shift work.

Qualifications

• North Indian cuisine experience or ability
• Experience supervising kitchen staff preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP practices
• Willingness to work shifts including evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Prepares ingredients by following recipes and methods including slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients.
• Completes hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
• Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains HACCP logs and proper dating, labelling and rotation of food items.
• Develops new menu items and collaborates on menu planning with supervisor.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
• Completes cleaning according to schedules and dishwashing/pot washing.
• Interacts with customers, listens to complaints, and helps resolve issues.
• Supervises a team to ensure kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy.
• Ensures all food and health and safety regulations are followed.
