Job summary

LAMBDA COMPUTING SOLUTIONS (S) PTE. LTD. invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant to support the Nutrition and Food Science Laboratory in an MOE secondary school near Aljunied MRT, Singapore.

You will assist with kitchen cleanliness, ingredient prep, stock-taking and general maintenance, working as part of a collaborative team with school leaders and teachers. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 1:00pm, for 10 months from 01 Jan 2027.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general cleanliness of school kitchens and prep rooms.
• Handle online ordering and receiving groceries, check against receipts.
• Prepare ingredients and equipment for lessons.
• Conduct stock-taking of equipment and maintain orderly cupboards.
• Monitor maintenance of kitchen hardware and report repairs.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and dependable Kitchen Assistant to support the daily operations of the Nutrition and Food Science Laboratory, while providing administrative support in an MOE Secondary School near Aljunied MRT. You will work closely with the HOD/LH-Science and Vice Principal, Administration Managers/Executives and School Leaders to ensure smooth school operations.

Key Responsibilities

• General Cleanliness of School Kitchens and Preparatory Room
  • Sweep and mop kitchens daily (especially after practical lessons).
  • Ensure stoves and working units are clean and free of food.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and 4 refrigerators.
• Online Ordering and Receiving of Groceries
  • Briefed by teachers on orders for practicals and how to pack the food and types of equipment needed.
  • Receives order from NTUC/ Giant/ Sheng Siong/ Heng’s Minimart and checks orders against receipt.
  • Packs the food accordingly and places it in the fridge.
• Food Ingredients and Equipment Preparation for Lessons
  • Prepares and portion out the ingredients before the practical.
  • Prepares equipment for students depending on the equipment needed.
• Conduct Stock-taking of Equipment
  • Check all equipment is returned and clean where necessary.
  • Keep all unused equipment once cleaned.
  • To assist teachers in accounting for all sharp equipment e.g. knives and peelers.
• Monitoring of General Maintenance of Kitchen Hardware
  • Organize all equipment in cupboards and to keep all cupboards in good order.
  • Check for faulty equipment and to discard non-fixed assets after approval by Coordinator.
  • To update Coordinator on equipment that needs repair or replacement for Coordinator to procure

Employment Details

Contract Period: From 01 Jan 2027 to 31 Oct 2027 (10 months)

Location: near Aljunied MRT

Working Hours:

Mondays to Fridays: 7:00am to 1.00 pm(flexible hours depending on school needs),inclusive of 15minutes break

Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
