Job summary

Migrantlink Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to maintain kitchen cleanliness and upkeep, especially after practical lessons, and to ensure a food-safe work area.

You will assist with grocery procurement and receiving, prepare ingredients and equipment for lessons, and manage stock-taking and inventory, storing items properly after each class.

Job description

Job Scope:

Kitchen Cleanliness & Upkeep

• Daily Cleaning: Sweep and mop kitchens daily, particularly after practical lessons, and ensure stoves and working units remain clean and food-free.

• Equipment & Appliance Care: Maintain the cleanliness of all equipment and four refrigerators.

Grocery Procurement & Receiving

• Ordering Support: Receive briefs from teachers regarding practical requirements, packaging, and necessary equipment.

• Receiving & Storing: Receive grocery deliveries from suppliers (e.g., NTUC, Giant, Sheng Siong, Heng's Minimart), check items against receipts, pack food accordingly, and store them in refrigerators.

Lesson Preparation

• Ingredient & Equipment Setup: Prepare and portion out food ingredients before practical lessons, and lay out required equipment for students.

Stock-Taking & Inventory Management

• Equipment Accounting: Ensure all equipment is returned, cleaned, and properly stored after lessons, and assist teachers in accounting for sharp tools (e.g., knives, peelers).

• Hardware Maintenance: Organize equipment cupboards, inspect for faulty items, discard non-fixed assets upon coordinator approval, and report items requiring repair or replacement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Professional Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Working Hours & Schedule

• Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM (flexible hours based on school needs; includes a 15-minute break).

• Off Days: Weekends and gazetted public holidays.
