Job summary

R&M BANANA LEAF INDIAN CUISINE in Singapore is seeking a kitchen assistant to support daily food preparation and sanitation. You will wash, peel, cut ingredients, stir soups, and help maintain clean utensils and workspaces to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifts including weekends/public holidays, and collaborate with teammates while demonstrating enthusiasm for learning new techniques.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar kitchen role preferred.
• Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meal ingredients by washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruits, vegetables, poultry, and meat to ensure readiness for cooking.
• Stir and heat soups and sauces to achieve desired consistency and flavor.
• Clean and store cooking appliances, utensils, instruments, cutting boards, and dishes to maintain hygiene standards.
• Organize and store food supplies properly in the kitchen, cold room, and storeroom to ensure food safety and accessibility.
• Perform additional ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Company to support kitchen operations.
• Adapt to split shifts and work on weekends and public holidays to meet operational needs.
• Maintain physical stamina to stand for long periods during food preparation and kitchen tasks.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
• Demonstrate passion for food and willingness to learn new skills to improve kitchen performance.
