SAMS Greens & Grains PTE LTD is seeking a Junior Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Raffles Place, Central Region. This full-time role focuses on supporting kitchen operations, preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, and contributing to a positive dining experience for guests.

The ideal candidate has culinary training or equivalent experience, a passion for cooking, and strong teamwork. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with attention to safety and presentation standards.

Qualifications

• Culinary qualification or hospitality training or equivalent experience.
• Passion for cooking and enthusiasm for the culinary arts.
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to high food quality and presentation.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen during peak service.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills; able to take direction positively.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Assist in mise en place activities, including ingredient preparation, chopping, dicing and portioning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen station, equipment and storage areas in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Support senior chef in food preparation and cooking during service periods.
• Follow all food safety protocols and maintain high standards of food hygiene.
• Monitor stock levels and report requirements for ingredient replenishment.
• Assist with plating and presentation of dishes to maintain consistent quality.
• Contribute to the development of new menu items and special dishes under guidance.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service operations.
