Qualifications

• Must have previous experience as a Chef or in a professional kitchen environment.
• Culinary qualification or relevant professional training is preferred.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Ensure all food is prepared fresh, safely, and to a consistently high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and daily specials where required.
• Manage food stock, including receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients.
• Minimize food wastage and control food costs.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service.
• Maintain proper preparation and storage of food items.
• Assist with ordering ingredients and checking deliveries.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff when required.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Chef or management.
