Job summary

Sembcorp in Singapore invites students for a full‑time internship from January to May 2027 within our Renewable Energy and Urban Solutions teams. You will support planning, data collection, and reporting on innovation projects at sites.

The role emphasizes cross‑functional collaboration, data analysis in Excel and Power BI, and presenting updates to stakeholders. Candidates should be pursuing mechanical, electrical or energy engineering and be comfortable with fieldwork at outdoor sites.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering or an equivalent field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities are essential.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of innovation projects with clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities.
• Assist in organizing project meetings, recording minutes, and tracking action items.
• Participate in site visits to collect data, document observations, and monitor progress.
• Compile and maintain project records, datasets, and documentation for reporting and decision‑making.
• Prepare updates, technical reports, and management presentations for stakeholders.
• Assist in developing proposals, technical submissions, and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet deadlines.
• Communicate project outcomes and learnings to management and stakeholders.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of innovation projects with clients, contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities.
• Assist in organizing project meetings, preparing meeting minutes, monitoring action items, and coordinating stakeholder follow-ups.
• Participate in site visits to collect project data, document observations, and track project progress.
• Compile, analyze, and maintain project records, datasets, and documentation to support project reporting and decision‑making.
• Prepare project updates, technical reports, presentations, and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of project proposals, technical submissions, and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables, requirements and timelines are achieved.
• Support the communication of project outcomes, key learnings, and innovation initiatives to management and other stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or equivalent
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
• Comfortable conducting site visits and working in outdoor environments when required.
• Familiar with workplace safety practices and requirements during site activities.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic project environment.
