Job summary

Sembcorp is seeking a Project Engineer to lead a team handling renewable energy or gas-related construction projects in Singapore. You will plan, coordinate, and monitor all activities to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include preparing master schedules, managing stakeholders, and ensuring regulatory compliance while driving efficiency and waste reduction across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Engineering background with project management exposure.
• Experience in energy/renewable or gas-related projects is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project engineers for renewable energy or gas projects.
• Plan and monitor submission progress to meet critical paths.
• Manage stakeholders and ensure safety, quality and schedule compliance.
• Create master schedules identifying critical activities and milestones.
• Ensure timely completion targets and implement catch-up plans when needed.
• Ensure documentation, checklists and regulatory compliance.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Project Engineers to manage & coordinate the implementation of construction activities for renewable energy or gas related projects
• Plan and monitor progress of authority submissions to ensure critical path of project is met
• Manage key stakeholders & takes accountability for the successful implementation of project, from safety, quality and schedule standpoint
• Create master construction schedule for developments and projects with identification of critical / mandatory activities
• Ensure project completion targets are met. Report misses and develop catch-up-plan
• Ensure system, documentation, tracking & checklists and good practices are adhered to
• Drive efficiency by eliminating waste and non-value add tasks to improve productivity
• Resource management and make the necessary recommendations to support project timelines. Provide recommendation to integrate resources, activities and deliverables as outlined in the Project Execution Plan.
• Ensure all activities carried out are in full compliance to all regulatory and authority requirement.
• Analyze data, derive trends, pareto, actions to close gaps, perform RCA and provide management reporting
• Identify resource constraints and make the necessary recommendations to support project timelines. Provide recommendation to integrate resources, activities and deliverables as outlined in the Project Execution Plan
• Comprehensive understanding of design principles of renewable energy systems or gas related systems with experience working in the industry
• Comprehensive understanding of installation and testing & commissioning of renewable energy systems or gas related systems.
• Has extensive knowledge of electrical design and specification of high-tension and low-tension electrical systems.
• Support and participate in tenders & tender interviews

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in related industry
• Experience in energy related engineering management and project management is an added advantage
• Experience in renewable energy or gas related projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project/Primavera
