Full-time internship (Jan–May 2027)

Job summary

Sembcorp Industries Ltd seeks a technology-enabled intern for its Specialised Construction arm to drive digital transformation on building and infrastructure projects. You will explore BIM, CAD, IoT, and analytics tools while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will gain hands-on experience deploying tech on-site, developing SOPs, and receiving training to support Kaizen and Agile improvements across multiple projects in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of build environment technologies (BIM, AutoCAD, Procore, PlanGrid) and related tools.
• Strong grasp of Microsoft 365 suite and automation (Power Automate).
• Understanding of networking, sensors, and cloud-based systems.
• Experience with data analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
• Familiarity with Lean or Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on SQL Server experience (design, query optimization, performance).
• Experience with AI integration for safety/surveillance is a plus.

Responsibilities

Sembcorp Specialised Construction, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, provides design and build services with an in-house multidisciplinary consultancy. Specialising in building, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects, we deliver innovative and efficient solutions to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Identify, recommend and implement technology solutions (e.g., BIM, CAD, IoT devices, drones, construction management software).
• Integrate digital tools into existing build environment workflows and ensure compatibility with project requirements. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for integrated technologies.
• Provide/Facilitate training and support for field and office staff when introducing the new technology/system.
• Work with vendors to test and deploy hardware and software solutions on project sites.
• Ensure all technology solutions comply with industry regulations and data security protocols.
• Monitor performance and optimize technology use across multiple projects.
• Support the use of real-time data collection and analysis tools to enhance project decision-making. (Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, Agile Methodology)

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of build environment technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), AutoCAD, Procore, PlanGrid, or similar.
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and tools. (Power Automate, etc)

• Knowledge of Lean or Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on capabilities in Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Familiar with AI systems integration, especially for safety and surveillance purposes, would value-add to application.
• Aptitude to support change management initiatives in a tech adoption context
• Due to the sensitive nature of the project, only Singaporean candidates will be considered
