Job summary

Job description

What the role is:

Early childhood attendance data plays a foundational role in ECDA's oversight of preschool operations, informing resource planning, policy decisions, and regulatory compliance. The TFN Division is looking to improve operational efficiency and data integrity in the preschool attendance workstream by (a) conducting a rigorous data validation exercise to assess whether the current monthly attendance reporting process from preschools can be streamlined, (b) supporting enhancements for preschool attendance reporting and other operational analytics dashboards, and (c) reducing manual effort in routine communications and data preparation through process automation. The primary focus of the internship will be on the data validation exercise and supporting enhancement work (approximately 90% of time), with the remaining 10% dedicated to process automation.

What you will be working on:

• Project scope- Conduct a comparative analysis between derived monthly attendance figures (aggregated from daily data) and monthly attendance data submitted by preschools.
• Design and apply appropriate data validation and statistical methods to assess discrepancies, including proposing acceptable tolerance thresholds and identifying potential causes of variance.
• Develop a recommendation framework on whether the current monthly attendance submission process can be streamlined or discontinued, based on data reliability, operational considerations, and risk assessment.
• Support the building and enhancement of dashboards for preschool attendance monitoring and reporting.
• Support the rework of Python/SQL scripts for monthly preschool attendance data collation, based on the new daily submission process.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows to reduce manual effort in the collation and preparation of emails and templates.
• Present analysis findings and recommendations to the team and relevant stakeholders.

What we are looking for:
