Job summary

What the role is:

This internship project will support a focused financial analysis of Early Intervention (EI) operators to better understand their basic financial health indicators, revenue and expenditure patterns, and financial sustainability. EI operators provide important services to young children with developmental needs and their families. Understanding their financial health will help strengthen ECDA’s internal understanding of the sector’s operating landscape and sustainability considerations.

What you will be working on:

• Develop a basic financial health dashboard for EI operators


• Analyse common financial trends across operators, including key patterns in revenue, expenditure, and cost components


• Support ECDA’s understanding of EI operators’ financial sustainability


• Present financial findings in a clear and accessible way for internal stakeholders


• Document the data preparation and analysis process for future referenceBy the end of the internship, the intern is expected to produce


• A standardised dataset of basic financial information from EI operators


• A basic financial health dashboard showing key indicators and trends


• A concise summary report of key findings and observations


• Documentation of the data preparation and analysis methodology


• A short presentation deck or briefing summary for internal sharingThrough this internship, the intern will gain practical experience in financial data organisation, basic financial analysis, dashboard development, data visualisation, and applied policy or sector analysis. The intern will also gain exposure to how financial sustainability relates to the delivery of services for children with developmental needs and their families.

What we are looking for:

• Currently pursuing a tertiary qualification relevant to finance, accounting, business analytics or data analytics


• Possesses strong skills in data analysis and interpretation, demonstrates critical thinking ability and works independently


• Has strong written and communication skills and is proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
