Job summary

KLA is seeking a Logistics Clerk to support Import Shipment Monitoring, expediting and cargo claims in our Singapore operations. You will work with suppliers, forwarders, buyers and warehouse teams to ensure on-time delivery and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ex prep in business or freight ops with knowledge of scheduling and customs procedures.
• SAP experience or similar logistics software.
• Proficient in MS Office (Teams, OneNote, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong customer service, verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of freight operations best practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track inbound shipments from suppliers through delivery to warehouse.
• Proactively expedite critical shipments to prevent production disruptions.
• Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, buyers, planners and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Investigate and resolve shipment delays, transit issues, and documentation discrepancies.
• Provide regular shipment status updates and escalate risks to stakeholders.
• Support transportation visibility and shipment performance monitoring.
• Act as logistics contact for buyers on complex shipment issues.
• Coordinate with forwarders and suppliers to resolve delivery or transportation concerns.
• Alert warehouse operations of urgent shipments and special handling requirements.
• Investigate lost, damaged, or discrepancy cases and submit cargo claims.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities

Import Shipment Monitoring & Expediting

• Monitor and track inbound shipments from suppliers through delivery to warehouse.
• Proactively expedite critical and time-sensitive shipments to prevent production disruptions.
• Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, buyers, planners, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Investigate and resolve shipment delays, transit exceptions, customs clearance issues, and documentation discrepancies.
• Provide regular shipment status updates and escalat[e] potential risks to stakeholders.
• Support transportation visibility and shipment performance monitoring.

Buyer & Stakeholder Support

• Logistics contact for buyers on complex shipment issues.
• Coordinate with forwarders and suppliers to resolve delivery, clearance, or transportation concerns.
• Escalate unresolved shipment issues to logistics management and service providers.

Warehouse Receiving Coordination

• Alert warehouse operations of urgent or critical shipments requiring priority receiving.
• Coordinate special receiving arrangements, including after-hours or weekend deliveries when necessary.
• Alert warehouse operations of special handling requirements.

Cargo Claims & Exception Management

• Investigate lost, damage, shortage, or discrepancy cases involving inbound shipments.
• Prepare and submit cargo claims to carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
• Follow up on claims status and ensure timely closure.
• Maintain proper claim records, supporting documents, and corrective action tracking.
• Work with logistics partners to minimize recurring shipment issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Business Administration or 10 years of freight operations management experience in forwarders or as a shipper/consignee capacity with knowledge on scheduling flow, freight operations, customs procedures
• SAP experience or similar
• Intermediate Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: TEAMS, OneNote, Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong customer service skills including verbal and written skills. Able to resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for freight operations.
• A team player with the ability to multi-task and organize work systematically.
• Process Improvement mindset
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast changing and demanding environment.
