Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Import/Export team, overseeing end‑to‑end trade operations including permits, billing, quotations, cost control, and customer payment collections.
• Manage operational and financial risks through proactive recovery planning, reporting, and close coordination with overseas branches, agents, partners, carriers, and NVOCCs, including rate negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards, including Zero GST, MES, RACA, ISO 9001/14001/45001, and bizSAFE STAR, while liaising with Customs, IRAS, and relevant authorities.
• Drive system improvements by streamlining manual processes, managing system modification requests, and supporting system integration with the parent company.
• Report regularly to Management, HQ, and stakeholders, delivering performance updates, improvement plans, and strategic inputs during monthly reviews.
• Support sales and business development activities, contributing to new customer acquisition and achieving an annual GTB target of SGD 100,000 for the Import/Export division.

Requirements

• Over 10 years' experience in the freight forwarding industry
• Previous import/export operations experience
• Knowledge of Singapore Air & Sea import/export regulations and customs compliance
• Experience with shipping documents (e.g., Bill of Lading, Invoice, Packing List)
• Must have experience with AS400 and CARGO WISE due to transition and integration
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excels, Words, PowerPoints, etc.) and other relevant software.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to effectively prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
