Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support SMS implementation, maintenance and improvement.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits for ISM/ISPS/MLC/ISO and other standards.
  • Support charterer vetting activities (TMSA, SIRE) and follow-up actions.
  • Monitor and report HSEQ KPIs using BI and digital tools.
  • Act as secretariat for HSEQ management reviews and prepare minutes.
  • Liaise with vessels, offices, classification societies and stakeholders.
  • Provide admin support for HSEQ documentation and projects.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Officer, Quality Assurance to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s Safety Management System and fleet-wide HSEQ initiatives. The successful candidate will coordinate audits and inspections, support charterer vetting activities, monitor HSEQ performance and assist with documentation, reporting and management review meetings. This role offers exposure to international HSEQ, digitalisation and fleet integration projects within a growing global maritime organisation.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS), including the preparation and revision of manuals, procedures and fleet notices.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits for fleet vessels and shore offices, covering ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO standards and other statutory or management system requirements.
  • Support charterer vetting activities, including preparation for TMSA, SIRE and customer inspections, as well as tracking observations and follow-up actions.
  • Monitor, analyse and report fleet-wide Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) performance objectives and key performance indicators using Business Intelligence and other digital tools.
  • Serve as secretariat for quarterly and annual HSEQ management review meetings, including agenda preparation, collation of presentation materials and preparation of official meeting minutes.
  • Liaise with vessels, regional offices, classification societies and external stakeholders on assigned HSEQ matters.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for HSEQ documentation, initiatives and divisional projects as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience, preferably within an HSEQ, quality assurance or ship management function.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence platforms, AI tools and Microsoft Access would be advantageous.
  • Excellent English communication, documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Self-motivated, service-oriented and comfortable working under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
