Hands-on HR role supporting recruitment, HR business partnering, employee relations and manpower planning within a fast-paced retail environment.
We are partnering with a leading organisation to hire an HR Executive to support its retail operations in Singapore.
This is a hands-on HR role covering HR business partnering, recruitment, employee relations, manpower planning and HR operations. The successful candidate will work closely with operational managers and frontline teams to support workforce requirements and provide practical HR solutions.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnering
- Partner with Retail Operations, Area Managers and Store Managers on manpower and employee-related matters.
- Provide practical HR advice on recruitment, employee relations, performance, attendance and retention.
- Engage with managers and employees to identify and address HR issues.
- Provide HR insights on manpower trends, turnover, absenteeism and vacancies.
- Conduct regular store visits to maintain close engagement with frontline operations.
Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for frontline, supervisory and store management positions.
- Work with business managers to forecast manpower requirements and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Source candidates through job portals, referrals, recruitment agencies, career fairs and other channels.
- Screen candidates, conduct interviews and coordinate the selection process with hiring managers.
- Manage offers, pre-employment requirements and onboarding.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for high-volume and recurring recruitment needs.
- Monitor recruitment effectiveness and recommend alternative sourcing strategies where required.
Employee Relations & Retention
- Handle employee queries, grievances and workplace matters in a fair and timely manner.
- Support managers in managing performance, attendance, misconduct and disciplinary matters.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyse turnover trends.
- Support employee engagement, recognition and welfare initiatives.
Performance & Talent Management
- Support performance and salary review processes.
- Work with managers to identify high-potential employees and support development and succession planning.
- Assist managers with performance improvement and coaching.
- Identify training needs and coordinate relevant development programmes.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Prepare employment documentation and employee correspondence.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
- Coordinate with Payroll and relevant HR teams on employee movements, attendance, allowances and payroll-related matters.
- Ensure HR practices are aligned with company policies and applicable employment legislation.
- Support HR reporting, manpower budgeting and other HR projects.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Approximately 3-5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably gained within the retail sector.
- Candidates with experience in F&B, hospitality, FMCG or other manpower-intensive environments will also be considered.
- Hands-on experience in HR business partnering and end-to-end recruitment.
- Experience managing high-volume frontline recruitment and manpower planning would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of employee relations and general HR practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage employees and managers at different levels.
- Practical and commercially minded approach to HR, with the ability to provide solutions aligned with business needs.
- Proactive, organised and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to conduct regular store visits and engage closely with frontline operations.
