Job summary

Lam Research in Singapore seeks a Field Service Engineer to deliver repair and preventive maintenance for etch, clean, and deposition equipment at customer sites. You will install, relocate, start-up, and troubleshoot systems while coordinating with customers to minimize downtime.

The role requires a degree in Electronics/Engineering (or related field) with 5+ years’ experience, or a Master’s with 3+ years, and a readiness to travel extensively (90%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years; or equivalent work experience.
• Self-starter who can work independently and has a desire to learn and grow with the company.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to engage customers on technical solutions.
• Willing to support short term overseas assignments.
• Able to work swing shifts (Tue–Sat and/or Sun–Thu).
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
• Able to work in a clean room environment with PPE.
• Willing to travel frequently (90% to regions like Japan/Korea/Taiwan/US).
• Able to perform rostered 24/7 on-call duty for a week.

Responsibilities

• Install or relocate equipment at customers’ sites and perform start-up and checkout activities.
• Provide warranty or paid service on-site, perform preventive maintenance and address equipment issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions; determine corrective actions.
• Implement field modifications or ECO-driven updates.
• Conduct Tier 2 process qualification work.
• Maintain accurate service logs, parts usage, and diagnostics updates.
• Represent the company professionally to customers and identify additional needs.
• Develop customer relations during installation and service contracts.
• Maintain and secure company equipment and tools.
• Take on ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.
