Job summary

Starhub Ltd in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee POS and payment operations within Finance, ensuring accurate transaction processing, compliance with controls, and ongoing improvements.

You will lead a small team, resolve operational issues, and partner with internal stakeholders and external parties (banks, payment providers) to drive automation, efficiency, and cost savings, while enhancing customer and business experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant payment and finance operations experience.
• 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems and payment modes.
• Experience in process improvement, automation, or cost optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to prioritise multiple deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end POS and payment operations, including validation, reconciliation, settlement, and exception handling.
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Resolve issues across POS systems, payment gateways, and related platforms in collaboration with IS and product owners.
• Collaborate with external collecting agents, banks, and payment service providers to ensure smooth operations, accurate settlements, and issue resolution.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and cost-saving initiatives to reduce manual work, errors, and transaction costs.
• Partner with stakeholders such as IS, product owners, finance teams, etc to ensure accurate data flow, resolve issues, and recommend operational efficiencies.
• Provide insights to enhance efficiency, customer experience, and support digital/technology initiatives.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuousimprovement.
• Balance BAU operations with issue resolution and improvement projects, ensuring resources are used effectively.
