Job summary

Bethesda (Frankel Estate) Church Limited is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee church facilities, maintain safety and compliance, and support event logistics and budgeting. Company Overview Bethesda (Frankel Estate) Church, established in 1958, operates Bethesda Kindercare and partners with Kampung Siglap Lifeskills Training & Retreat Centre by New Hope Community Services to serve the community.

Job Summary Manage and maintain church facilities, coordinate event logistics, oversee vendor relations, ensure safety compliance, administer space bookings, and support budgeting to enable smooth church operations and community activities.

Responsibilities

1. Facilities Maintenance & Upkeep

   • Work with Operations Manager to: supervise outsourced cleaning teams to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment through routine site walkthroughs using checklists, and promptly addressing any cleanliness, hygiene or safety lapses.
   • oversee routine servicing and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems(e.g., air-conditioning, lifts, lightning protection).
   • Coordinate general upkeep including minor repairs, painting, and landscaping.

2. Event & Logistics Support

   • Direct cleaning team to ensure seating, staging, and logistics are ready for weekly worship services, weddings, and special events.
   • Manage inventory and restock vital church service logistics (e.g., Holy communion capsules, beverages, cutlery) and office supplies.

3. Vendor Management

   • Source vendor quotations, negotiate contracts, and supervise on-site contractors.
   • Seek approvals for procurement
   • Review and renew service agreements for cleaning, pest control, and specialised repairs.

4. Safety & Compliance

   • Ensure the premises strictly meet Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) fire safety codes and building regulations.
   • Conduct regular safety inspections, update evacuation plans, and serve as an on-site emergency responder.

5. Space & Booking Administration

   • Manage the master facilities usage schedule.
   • Coordinate room bookings and logistical support for various church ministries and the preschool.
   • Manage the church storage system to maintain organised inventory

6. Budgeting & Capital Planning

   • Assist church leadership in forecasting facilities budget, inclusive of long-term capital improvement projects.
   • Track monthly operational expenses against approved budgets to ensure financial control

7. Staff Meetings

   • Participate actively in weekly staff meetings and Bible study sessions to support team collaboration and spiritual growth
