Job summary

NEW ASIA LION CITY TRADING PTE. LTD. is seeking a friendly host/hostess to deliver top-tier front-of-house service in our Singapore restaurant. You will welcome guests, seat them, present menus, and guide daily operations to ensure a smooth, guest-centric dining experience.

With 2+ years in F&B or retail, you’ll manage queueing, upsell specials, and maintain high standards while collaborating with kitchen and service teams. This role requires shift work, weekends, and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of customer-facing experience in F&B or retail preferred.
• Basic command of English and/or Mandarin to liaise with team and guests.
• Physically fit; able to stand long hours as host/hostess.
• Good interpersonal skills, team spirit and service mindset.
• Able to commit to shift, weekend, and public holiday duties.
• Well-groomed, punctual, and able to multitask under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and seat guests professionally, ensuring efficient queue management and optimal table allocation.
• Present menus confidently, introduce signature dishes and daily specials, and recommend suitable menu items to enhance the overall dining experience.
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and basic service recovery promptly, escalating complex matters to the Store-in-Charge where necessary.
• Build positive guest relationships and encourage customer engagement and online reviews.
• Supervise daily floor operations to ensure smooth service flow and high service standards.
• Support the Store-in-Charge in coordinating manpower deployment and table assignments.
• Lead by example and provide guidance to service staff during operational hours.
• Coach and mentor new employees on service standards, SOPs, and product knowledge.
• Conduct pre-service briefings and ensure the team is well-informed of daily promotions, reservations, and operational updates.
• Assist in clearing and resetting tables promptly to maximise table turnover.
• Operate the POS system accurately for order taking, billing, and payment transactions.
• Ensure dining areas, service stations, pantry, and equipment remain clean, organised, and operationally ready.
• Support monthly stock counts and monitor inventory levels, reporting shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Monitor service quality and identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Support promotional activities, festive events, and marketing initiatives at the restaurant level.
• Assist in achieving outlet sales targets through excellent customer service and product recommendations.
• Perform supervisory duties during assigned shifts in the absence of the Store-in-Charge.
• Ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety, hygiene, workplace safety, and personal grooming standards.
• Report hazards, maintenance issues, customer incidents, or operational concerns promptly.
• Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to maintain seamless communication and efficient service delivery.
• Foster a positive team culture through professionalism, teamwork, and accountability.
