Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore is seeking a designer-educator with a strong Interior Design or Spatial Design background to shape the Diploma in Experience Design. You will teach, mentor and lead projects that blend spaces, products, services and digital experiences for memorable experiences.

The role emphasizes human-centred design, placemaking and emerging technologies, with industry collaborations and curriculum development across spaces, products and interactions.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Interior Design, Spatial Design or Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating spatial, environmental or experiential design.
• Experience in end-to-end design processes including research and prototyping.
• Ability to connect spatial design with products, services and digital tech.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and project management skills.
• Teaching, mentoring, coaching or leading design teams is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lessons and develop curriculum, learning resources and assessments in experience design across design disciplines.
• Bring interior and spatial design expertise into multidisciplinary learning experiences.
• Provide thought leadership within the Experience Design curriculum.
• Guide students in spatial planning, placemaking and environmental storytelling.
• Mentor students through industry projects and collaborations.
• Lead or support industry collaborations and applied research in experience design.
• Develop and evaluate curriculum to align with industry trends.
• Keep learning experiences current with sustainability and XR-enabled design.
• Build partnerships to support internships, consultancy and graduate employability.
• Support course management, student recruitment and CET initiatives.
• Develop and deliver CET programmes related to experience and spatial design.
