Job summary

Singapore Public Service is seeking an experienced design educator to shape the next generation of experience designers. The role focuses on integrating interior and spatial design into a holistic, human-centered curriculum that spans spaces, products, services, and digital experiences.

You will develop curriculum, mentor students, and foster cross-disciplinary collaborations, ensuring learning aligns with industry practice and emerging technologies such as XR and Generative AI for design

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Interior Design, Spatial Design, Architecture or related discipline.
• Strong industry portfolio demonstrating spatial, environmental or experiential design work.
• Experience in end-to-end design processes: research, concept, planning, prototyping, and presentation.
• Solid understanding of spatial design, user-centered design, materials and environments.
• Ability to connect spatial design with products, services and digital tech.
• Awareness of sustainable design, inclusive design, smart spaces and immersive environments.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and project management.
• Teaching, mentoring, or leading design teams is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct curriculum development, learning resources and assessments in experience design.
• Bring Interior and Spatial Design into multidisciplinary learning experiences.
• Provide leadership in the Experience Design curriculum and domain expertise.
• Guide students in applying spatial planning, user journeys and placemaking.
• Mentor students through industry projects and multidisciplinary collaborations.
• Lead industry collaborations, consultancy projects and applied research in experience design.
