Job summary

A leading technology solutions provider in Singapore seeks a Quality Engineer to drive quality strategies across teams and manage supplier components. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and has at least 3 years of experience in the automotive industry. A solid understanding of quality methodologies and the ability to work independently and in teams are required. Competitive opportunities await in this expanding organization.

  • Strong knowledge in quality related methodologies and standards.

  • Contribute to corrective actions from VDA 6.3 audits.

Skills

Understanding of Component Introduction

Job description
Main Responsibilities
  • Champion a strong quality mindset and actively drive the Zero Defect strategy across internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Lead or support qualification of new components and requalification activities (e.g., Product Change Notifications) in line with Continental’s Product Life Cycle and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes.
  • Plan, initiate, and oversee advanced quality measures during the design and development phases to ensure supplier components meet all technical and quality requirements.
  • Work closely with global and cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Engineering, Project Management, Local SQM, Customer Quality, and Logistic.
  • Participate in the review of corrective actions from VDA 6.3 audits, with a strong focus on early involvement and preventive measures.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and best practice sharing across the category, organization, and supplier base.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in Automotive Industry.
  • Good understanding of Component Introduction in design and development phase and APQP management
  • Ability to understand, discuss and align technical requirements with high focus on requirements engineering based on drawings and specifications
  • Good knowledge in process for plastic overmolding/molding and its secondary process with cosmetic requirement, stamping, press-fit stamping, sub-component assembly, automated inline testing, wire cutting/terminating for cable assemblies
  • Strong knowledge in quality related methodologies and standards (eg. FMEA, 8D review, 5why, Problem Solving, etc)
  • Able to work independently and also in team-based environment
