Job summary

Setsco Services Pte Ltd seeks an experienced field mechanical technician to oversee on-site inspections, load testing, and maintenance activities across customer sites in Singapore. You will liaise with authorised examiners, prepare detailed reports, and ensure safety compliance with MOM guidelines.

Qualifications

• NITEC/Diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in mechanical maintenance, lifting equipment inspection, machinery servicing, or related industries.
• Hands-on with mechanical equipment, troubleshooting, maintenance, or load testing.
• Welding knowledge or experience is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of machinery and mechanical systems.
• Business development, sales, or customer relationship management experience is beneficial.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors and travel to customer sites.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Valid local Class 3 driving licence; Class 4 licence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site visual inspections, load testing, and maintenance per MOM and guidelines.
• Liaise with AE and clients for witnessing activities and certificate renewals.
• Perform site visits, technical assessments, troubleshooting, and handle client inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with site safety and company procedures.
• Prepare inspection reports, technical findings, and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment; ensure readiness for deployment.
• Record equipment usage, service reports, and project documentation.
• Coordinate projects, site activities, manpower, and subcontractors as needed.
• Identify business opportunities during site visits and propose services.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers.
• Assist in preparing quotations, proposals, tenders, and service agreements.

Requirements:

• NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, lifting equipment inspection, machinery servicing, or related industries.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment, troubleshooting, maintenance, or load testing activities.
• Candidates with welding knowledge or experience will have an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of machinery and mechanical systems is required.
• Possess business development, sales, or customer relationship management experience will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to identify customer needs and develop business opportunities.
